Issue
Some users may experience the Driver App freezing, lagging, or becoming unresponsive after updating their iPhone to iOS 26.
Cause
We have identified a potential cause related to the iOS 26 update.
After updating, iOS 26 may automatically enable Background App Refresh and Location Services for multiple applications.After updating to iOS 26, it may automatically enable Background App Refresh and Location Services for multiple applications. If many apps are running these services simultaneously, the device may become overworked, resulting in increased heat, slower performance, and app lag.
Resolution
If a user reports the Driver App freezing or lagging after updating to iOS 26, recommend the following steps:
- Open Settings on the iPhone.
- Go to General > Background App Refresh.
- Disable Background App Refresh for apps that do not require it.
- Review Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and disable location access for apps that do not need it.
- Restart the iPhone and reopen the Driver App.
Result
After disabling unnecessary Background App Refresh and Location Services, the Driver App resumed normal operation.
Notes
- This appears to be related to the iOS 26 update rather than the Driver App itself.
- If the issue persists after following these steps, continue troubleshooting or escalate the case as appropriate.
