Understanding Time Zones in Dispatch Science

Modified on Tue, 11 Mar at 2:03 PM

Glossary

  • Tenant Time Zone: The primary time zone of your organization's central location.
  • User Time Zone: The time zone based on the user's computer settings.
  • Driver Time Zone: The time zone based on the driver’s phone settings.

Where Time Zones Are Used

Dispatch Science primarily uses the User Time Zone, except in the following areas where the Tenant Time Zone is applied:

  1. Order List in the Back Office
  2. Driver History
  3. Driver Device Information
  4. Driver Off Duty/Away Time
  5. Recurrences
  6. Service Level Settings

On the Driver App, all times are displayed in the Driver Time Zone (the time zone set on the driver’s phone).

Time Zone Adjustments

If a user or driver is in a different time zone than the Tenant, Dispatch Science automatically converts and displays times in the local time zone of their device (computer or phone).

Why Does the Time Look Different from My Own Time Zone?

Time zone settings in Dispatch Science are based on the time zones of the pickup and delivery addresses. This means the displayed times may not always match your personal time zone but reflect the relevant location's time.

To understand the time difference:

  • Calculate the difference between your local time zone and the pickup or delivery location’s time zone.
  • Hover over the blue ribbon indicator, which displays your current local time zone, helping you verify the time conversion.
